It is surrounded by open countryside & walks and close to the beautiful East Coast with the famous towns of Filey, Scarborough, and Whitby or the cliffs at Bempton, famous for the sea birds. It is the perfect location for a trip to the beautiful historic city of York, less than half an hour away, so you can spend a day in York or go to the famous York races. With a wealth of history on the doorstep, you can visit the stately homes of Castle Howard, Beningbrough Hall, Sledmere House, or Burton Constable. Close by are the pretty market towns of Malton (Yorkshire’s Food Capital), Beverley (arrange a guided tour of the Minster roof), and Helmsley with Duncombe Park. Visit Pocklington, only 1.5 miles away, and book a show at the award-winning multi-arts venue or enjoy Burnby Hall Gardens.
